Like I said phonk, people aren't hating, they just want to see Ricky in better fights, I have criticised Burns in the past and justifiably so IMO. He has accepted many poor fights when he should took a stand and told Uncle Frank to swivel, he lost out on about 18 months of his career through fighting dross when he should have been at least defending against contenders, hopefully this is the start of a good run of fights for Burns, he also needs to get rid of that tosser Alex Morrisson, he's whispering the wrong things in his ears.
Yep this is great news all round! Would love to go but wont be in the country. Fair play to Burns for taking the fight, ****** for making it and putting up a solid undercard!
I'm not amongst the Broner cheerleaders, but I understand what you mean, he seems to get a pass while others don't. Vasquez should be Number 1 in the division IMO. Katsidis was a good win I agree, Moses was a solid scalp also but the Mitchell fight was pretty pointless, but I don't blame Ricky for that, he got a nice payday and a decent win against a Euro level fighter.
once billy nelson has come back on and his gloat things will settle down again nelson was trolling most of the threads and every1 was biting
Moses was a good win and, again, a fun fight. I liked the Mitchell bout in terms of a domestic showdown with an aesthetically pleasing style. And Ricky closed the show exactly how I'd expect a world-level guy should do against a domestic guy.
Can you blame him? He gets nothing but shite on here. Must be feeling pretty happy with himself today.
That's the way they do it in Mexico. Turn pro early and get matched tough. Only two losses are to Canelo (very early on) and Timmy Bradley, both above his best weight. There's no footage of the first Alvarez fight, the fact that they fought again gives a hint at what happened.
I'm not so sure how good the Moses win is..on the one hand Ricky put on an excellent technical performance, but Moses may have been slightly over the hill, I'm not sure.
Credit to FW for this card, gets stick when it's deserved which is a lot but good to see he's getting the credit now he's got his finger out. Still going to find a space to credit Hearn, without him pushing the standard of promoting up we'd be watching Burns vs Matthews, Clev vs.......well still Krasniqi but prob on a seperate bill as a main event, things are picking up.
I spoke to a Mexican on the General Forum about they're first bout, Canelo and Vasquez that is, he said he was ringside and thought Vasquez won three of the four rounds quite comfortably.
you're very tough on Gavin Rees, he is certainly not a journeyman and I see him giving Broner problems, I've always thought Rees to be a cut above Mitchell and Murray
