I've seen his fight with Jackson. Drayton looked god damned near indestructible, and coupled with the high guard he used during that fight he took an ungodly amount of power shots. Jackson eventually punched through his guard and Drayton fell a lot like Graham, except a bit stiffer. He got up and seemed okay, unbelievably. That's going off memory, anyway. What did he have going for him? Just how good was that chin?
Buster was one of those fighters who probably spent a little too much time aa quality sparring partner, sometimes he seemed to sleepwalk, until you woke him up, then you could have a nasty fight on your hands He upset the English applecart when Ko'ing quality Middleweight Prospect Mark Kaylor ( on the night Bonecrusher upset Bruno ) Buster was exciting and could punch, it was good to have him around.
Buster was akward in his own way also. He's an ex marine who did guard duty at the Willow Grove airbase not far from me many years ago.
I saw his fight with Mark Kaylor and it was brutal. He was smashing Kaylor to the canvas but Kaylor kept getting up, only to be blasted down again. I remember thinking that the ref should have stopped it earlier. Drayton certainly was in devastating form on that evening. The commentator called it a dark day for British boxing (same card where Bruno got his first loss against Bonecrusher Smith)
