Sometimes getting buzzed and being KO'd is all situational....I mean look at Hopkins in his first fight or Margo....I mean judging chins is far from black and white, I beleive there many layers to unfold when truly understanding the chemistry of "chin"
Most chins become vulnerable when the fighter is gassed. I'd say unproven so far.Haven't seen much to prove glass or granite thus far.
The only footage of him fighting a legitimate puncher was with them 12oz gloves and headgear on, and he got put on his ass and was in bad shape. LA had him doing bambi on ice in Montreal, and LA isn't a notorious puncher, not even close to it. The jury will be out, but there is irrefutable evidence that it's far from iron.
Absolutely true, I remember Emanuel Burton fighting Ebo Elder in a classic bout that made your hair stand at attention. I knew Burton came in the fighter drained but was landing bombs on Ebo but Ebo kept coming on Burton became exhuasted and Ebo's punches started to hurt more and more until Burton could take no more and dropped lack a sack of potatoes. I'm not saying Burton had an iron chin but a energized Burton would not have Eric Crumbled like he did that night.

Average. There are not many SMWs now that have great chins. Bute, Ward, Dirrell, Steiglitz have all had their chin scares. Froch has shown a good chin but was wobbled by Dirrell and his chin seems on the way down. Kessler has shown a great chin
Put average but its better than average he doesnt get hit enough for it to be called granite never seen him hurt bad or out on his feet, I know everyone is gonna say the Andrade fight but that was a conditioning thing not a chin thing
To be fair you can't call him a glassjaw because he got KO'ed once at amateurs, then we would have a huge number of glassjaws in boxing. Problem is people love to see everything in black and white, either glassjaw/granite chin, coward/brave, where are the middleground? I bet most boxers would find themselves there. Guess I will now be called a Bute-licker by some, like when i critizise him im called a hater... Yes, another black and white.
