How tight is the deal with Showtime?
Can he afford to break the deal? Surely he'd be on shitstreet legally.
Apologies if this has been covered or answered elsewhere.

    Good poll.

Those are probably his four best possibilities. Adding a fight with Kessler in Copenhagen, but this is not realistic right now.

Is Froch's fight on May 5th a done deal? Source? Any hints on possible opponents?

You might be onto something with the "blackball" theory. Multiple entrants in the Super Six said Bute should have to earn a shot at the winner. I don't blame them, he's been fighting easy fights at home while the they have been fighting each other.

I wonder if there's a little animosity towards him from the other promoters. Expecting to just slide up to the top without putting in the work could be considered arrogant. Just a thought.

WTF:huh Is this for real??? Sorry; I have not been following the sport that closely as of late but Ward turned down a fight against Bute in Oakland?

Unreal; For all the **** Bute gets on these forums, it honestly seems like there is some boxing conspiracy against this guy. SHOWTIME obviously is more confortable with Ward being their poster child.

Bute is a modern day victim of boxing polotics. He should try for a fight with Hopkins at 175 but Team Hopkins would find a way not to make it.

    Poor Lucian!!!

The best part of it all is, one can assume Interbox doesn't mind Bute losing the belt if it's against a top 3 SMW, all because Bute finally gets recognition for stepping up and because Andrade-George is a PR nightmare regarding the Montreal media (if they were to face the IBF mando afterwards or even now).

Bute did say he would fight Ward in Oakland or Froch in Nottingham. Ward recommended the fight to Froch live during the post-fight interviews, and Froch nodded positively to the idea. He didn't know Bute had been quoted to say, "I would KO Froch." - right after the last bell.

Now Bute can't get either Ward or Froch to fight him?!? Why the ****.. what the **** is wrong with people? Make the fight at MSG, NYC and Bute brings good money at the gate from QC.. oh and make Ward wear All American trunks!!!

Kessler is busy, Goosen/Ward don't want the fight now and Showtime don't want the Froch fight. Is it between Dirrell and Hopkins now? Are you ****in kiddin me?!???

Dirrell, who didn't beat Froch and who had AA landing clean in the last 2 rounds of the fight he won by DQ.

Dirrell, who has no fanbase and no name on the world scene.

...and Dirrell, who's a major disappointment of an opponent if you ask the QC & Romanian population well knowing Froch or Ward haven't signed for their next opponents yet. It was gonna be Froch, Ward, or Kessler. And Kessler is busy.

Bute-Stevenson, and we have riots similar to 2nd playoffs with the Habs losing in 7.

    Bump.

It seems as if Froch is moving forward with his career as he has booked a stadium in Nottingham for May 5.

So it would appear as if Froch's team knows that Showtime will not approve this bout, and that Lucian has no intention of resigning with Showtime, and why should he since he only signed to be allowed into the s6 as a replacement and was kept out by the Ward's camp refusing to copromote or fight in Canada.:-(

It's looking more and more likely that Dre will get an artificial IBF ranking or Tony will fight Bute. He's fresh since the St Juste fight was stopped early, and he could likely be preparing for Bute, allowing Ward a stay busy voluntary while he awaits the final of Hop/Dawson.

    ****........:yikesI hate boxing politics.:|

He called Bute out but Interbox said the temporary stadium could only be build for May 6th.

Is there a source for this? Any mention of Showtime officially being the big bump on the road to Bute-Froch?

Bute vs any Dirrell, is a let down compared to Ward or Froch. We're already at plan C, assuming Hopkins isn't really in the picture due to contractual obligations @ HBO.

Ward over at the Scene just said Bute's footwork is robotic, and that he favors Froch to break Bute mentally AND physically. Bute on the other hand thinks he can KO Froch.

Make the god damn fight already! Ward won't fight Bute because he thinks the guy is ****. I wonder what he thought of Green and even Authur.

Well ****, just read it on another forum. Froch-Stieglitz May 5th in Nottingham. WTF.

Ward-Kessler II right away, or even in the summer with a long break beforehand?

That leaves Bute with Dr Dre Dirrell. Or a less than reputable top 15 SMW in a one sided, fan killing matchup.
