bean at one point looked almost half decent at mma..but he was way fat for this most recent fight (I know he is always fat) but he looked extra fat for that fight...though I cant find any records forh is weight.
I wish the organisations would start a seperate banner under which to promote these freak show fights. Kimbo, butterbean, Pudz etc. It is not really MMA it's just people with a bit of a profile going at it. It puts MMA backwards in terms of reaching true mainstream sporting status. Imagine if you were a lifelong martial artist who trains 24/7 and you have to share the bill with Butterbean, who is probably fighting in the main event?
well i mean...the bean has boxed..and he has been training mma forwhile..so he is kind of a "martial artist" now Pudz is new to the game, but hell, if they can make money off it..why not.
Jeff Kugel is 6'6, 290 pounds and was 3-0 as an amateur MMA prior to this fight. Beating BB in your first fight is actually quite decent. Nice trip, got the mount and then started beating on him. Lets not beat around the bush - BB is 44 years old, grossly overweight and sometimes not opposed to a freakshow. But he still knows how to fight a bit.
Butterbean is one of the more under-rated, under-appreciated, and over-looked fighters in both boxing and mma history; the Bean is formidable against certain fighters or certain styles and he has that power; I think he deserves bit more respect than he's given. IMHO, Butterbean would kayo Kimbo Slice and kayo Mariusz in the same night.
Maybe the old Bean, but I honestly think that if the Bean shows up in the same shape he will have hard time not rolling around like a bowling ball !
