Agreed 100%...it looks to me like the sole reason Byrd's in this is to help but Povetkin "over" in the US, and I'm guessing he'll be well paid for it. I can't see this fight going well for him at this stage in his career for all the reasons I mentioned in the above post. My opinion is that it's going to be an ugly ending for him, honestly. The more I think about it, this might be his final fight- which would explain why he's not going down to Cruiser.
How unexciting is it, that both Byrd and Brock are in this four man tournament for a shot at Wlad? They've both been hammered, but good. And Byrd, twice, now. Byrd or Brock winning the shot would be a very predictable fight for all involved. But I hope, and think, that Povetkin will pull it off.
I doubt there is a fighter out there who could make Povetkin look foolish. Win over him - yes, but that dude is no fool.
