What do you fellas think I saw the fight against Shaun George and was saddened by Byrds performance. He struggled to get punches and didn't look like there was any fight left in him. His legs were also wobbly thoughout the fight. Too bad for Byrd. I can only hope he has a good retirement. What a shame period.:-( :dead
He should definitely retire. His chin was completely gone in that fight, and his legs were all over the place.

I'm with you bro I watched FNF's in disbelief aswell. how easy Byrd was dismantled, but to be honest from the start of the 1st round it kinda looked like the outcome was only a matter of time. The Byrd of old was defo not in the ring. Taking nothing away from Shaun George he did what he had to do and won the match.
I was saddened by the attempts of byrd and dont take anything away from george, but he cant say he beat the bryd we all know so well.

Byrd is done. He was faster at heavy but at this weight he is to damn slow. The guy that beat him is nowhere near the cream of the crop and he schooled Byrd.
I just hope he does not attribute his performance on cutting too much weight and saying, "It'll be a different story @ Cruiser, I'll get strengh back, speed will be there." He looked physically I'll. Hopefully he's healthier than he looks and moves on to other great things in life.
Byrd is in his late 30s and is his style relies on speed and reflex, which are the first things to go. You can see these things leaving some fighters even in the late 20s. It's because he was so far above average in these things that he held on for so long. His skill and his courage helped too. Byrds time to shine was supposed to be against Lennox Lewis, unfortunately Lewis ducked him. I'll always remember him as the best fighter of the Lewis era who just didint get his shot. I truly think he would have schooled Lennox Lewis, but instead he was forced to fight much younger bigger guys in alphabet defenses to prove his worth when he should have been fighting them in linear defenses instead. Byrd would have beat Lewis, then down the road when Wlad beat Byrd, wed have an established champ. Its late in the game for Byrd at any weight, his style and age dictate it to be so.
And after the victory against Lewis he would have carried the momentum and Knocked out Wladimir. Actually I think he would still be undisputed champion if Lewis wouldnt have ducked him
