Callazo - thoughts?

I thought he was robbed against Berto and Hatton, personally. If those two were official wins on his record, where would he be ranked as a welter and P4P fighter?

 

I dont know, he cleary beat Berto, not sure about Hatton ill have to rewatch it.

 

I think that Collazo beat Berto, but the last two rounds definitely cost him. The Hatton fight was close and harder to score imo.

 

Berto landed the better shots. He wasnt robbed but it was very close. He`s a great TV fighter though. Brilliant chin and never say die mentality. Collazo will be back.

 

I'm not necessarily asking whether or not you think he won these fights, they were both close and I suppose it comes down to individual perspective, but what do you think would have happened had Callazo been given the nod in them both? Where would he rank?

How can you come to this assumption? Watch the fight again and score each round by round, although I think Collazo had the better rounds he didnt have the majority so hence forth Hatton's victory

 

I had Collazo winning both by 114-113.

Because scoring is subjective. Im sure your well aware of that and hence why one of the judges had it as close as 114-113. It is my opinion that Collazo`s body of work was far superior and crisper. I dont score punches for ineffective aggresion, cuffing blows and poor ring generalship. I stand by what iv said.

 

The fight could have easily gone either way...I scored the fight just as Harold did, Collazo winning 7rds to 5. But, i could see how someone would have scored the fight 7-5 for Berto.

I feel bad for Collazo...he is now entering the dreaded "no-man's land".

No one will want to fight this guy...he's too much risk for the reward.

 

Naw he`ll get fights but he`ll be seen as a gatekeeper. His been unfortunate against Berto and Hatton. Against Mosley he was soundly beaten.

 

I scored it twice 6-6 and then 7-5 to Collazo, it was very close.

Mosley ofcourse beat the crap out of him winning every round pretty much

 

Interesting hypothetical, but topic starter is giving Collazo too much credit for fights he came up SHORT in.

sure Collazo could have, or "should have" won

but he didn't, and it's slowly becoming a common theme of his.

rather then ponder what could have been, why not live in the reality? (that Collazo coughed up both fights)
