    Lets look at the achievments.....

    1. Wins WBO title ...beats Chris Eubank ( who was inititally scheduled to fight at light heavy) Eubank takes fight at 2 weeks notice.....says everything about WBO that they sanctioned this.

2.beats Rick thornberry in defence...Thornberry was ranked no:1 contender...(We all got a chance becoming Wchampion with WBO)

    3. Wins a split decision vs Robin Reid....after Reid was taken to school by Sugar boy Malinga.

4 Beats Sven Ottkes left overs (Byron Mitchell Brewer)

    5. Makes more defences of the bogus WBO crown against sDavid Starie Karia Salem...etc

    6. Stays with Frank Warren, because he knows he getting it easy.

    7. Beat s Jeff Lacy (Lacy who was fortunate to get past journeyman Omar Sheika) Some career defining fight!

    8. Beats the most hyped fighter to come out of Europe....the self proclamed poor mans European De La Hoya. Kessler

    9. Wants to make an impact on the American Market so wants to face a well know superstar....Joe comes up with Peter Manfredo....Doh!!!he go that worng.

    10. During Calzaghes time, Beyer, Glenn Catley Brewer even Manny Sacia have held the world title. Says alot abou the standard of the SM division through this era.....a far cry from Nunn Mclellan Toney Benn Collins Jones Johnson Mcullam...

all of th above were in the top 20 P4P...Calzaghe has managed an amazing 10 years without fighting a P4P fighter and ATG .....geez i thought Willy Pep was the most elusive.

Kessler/Lacy were his best wins. Lacy b/c he owned him, Kessler b/c Kessler is not a mediocre fighter. He is quality but not on the status of the more schooled and established fighters.

    Umm yeah, you're a joke.

I'm not going to bother to argue your points such as they are, but on the off chance that anyone who drops by this thread and is genuinely interested in an analysis of Joe Calzaghe's career I'd like to take the chance to recomend the threads posted by Beatboxer on the British board and the ensuing discussion.

    Thread on Calzaghe is here:

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53833

And the second part on Hopkins here:

Maybe OP could have a read and understand how his offering compares with what this board can have to offer at its best.

I am brutal, but I dont distort reality and say that Kessler is a nothing etc etc. I think he is overhyped by ESB the same as Calzaghe but I just dont put Calzaghe on the status of the James Toneys and the Prime Bhops and Roys of the game. He is beneath them, but above everybody else.

I'll agree that Calzaghe's resume was a bit of a joke for most part, but he's lifted his game heaps in the last few years.
