I'm sorry to tell you this buddy, but Mikkel Kessler is more of an elite fighter than everyone at LHW except for Chad Dawson, including the rest of the 160-175 range. Pavlik, Taylor, Johnson, Erdei and the current version of Hopkins are not elite's, Kessler is an elite however, he'd beat all of those I just named handily. The only reason he wouldn't take this fight is if the opposing team was trying to really screw him promotional wise or his cut, in which that would be justified because any of the other young fresh LHW's count more than a totally shot Bernard Hopkins who is 43 years old.
If Calzaghe chickening out then Kevin Keegan going to be back at the helm at newcastle. No chance! Hopkins wants a bigger cut because he his going to get beat of this white boy.
Sheer bloody talent mate! He's the one fighter I'd pick too beat Calzaghe at the moment. Probably needs another experience giving fight first however.
He was scheduled to fight Johnson like 2-3 seperate times sevearl years ago and pulled out. As much as Joe has done in his career i think he still isnt fully confident in himself which he makes clear by always being so difficult to get into the ring.
calzaghe did , but in his defense he went on to unify 168 and went in against lacy and kessler while johnson managed a draw and a loss v woods. but of all calzaghe1`s pull outs johnson was the worst and was in fact ducked by calzaghe.
its all **** stirring. hopkins has not been able to walk today as greg leons tounge got stuck to his backside. the fight will be signed this week .
Erm, this just in from Bernard Hopkins: "I know the lawyers are finalizing their agreements and putting it together. I'm just waiting to sign my copy. Verbally I've agreed. I'm just waiting for the lawyers to say it's time to make an annoucment and kick off the multi-city tour." In other words, Bernard Hopkins has yet to sign a contract either.
