When do you think we'll expect to hear an announcement from Joe regarding his retirement decision?

At his age I don't think it's wise to be inactive for too long in between fights so I thought we would have heard something by now.

if he was gonna go on , he would have announced by now ( for the reason you state )

I think he knows he's done but doesn't want to actually announce the end , so long as he doesn't he'll still be talked about.

    Booooooooo hater!

I think he'll retire with the '0' intact although I heard a rumour from someone the other day that a Hopkins rematch in Cardiff is very possible.

I expect a Calzaghe - Taylor fight to be announced within a month.

Joe is trying to tempt Sugar Ray Leonard into a fight.

I expect he's sitting on a few offers right now.

No point in rushing it either way.

I disagree with the above posters, I think the longer he goes on the more it suggests he'll fight again. If his gut instinct was to retire, he would have done so. He's weighing up who, where, when and crucially how much money I expect.

More crucially, finding someone that isn't capable of beating him.

That won't be difficult, only one fighter is.

Its not fact but a hunch ive had for motnhs.

He is a name in a America, has beaten Hopkins twice, just beaten Lacy, HBO are currently only looking for sellable fights for Taylor (theyve already refused Froch) AND it will **** Carl Froch off if Joe was able to secure this fight so easily, plenty of good resons for Joe to take this fight.

Oh no doubt i can see the reasons for them both taking this but if I were froch Id be round at enzos gym calling out Joe for nothing if he steals this one.

    This

    0 stuff is overrated

it kind of defeats the point of being undefeated if you are so scared of being beaten you hold back of fighting someone

I'd like Calzaghe to fight on only in big fights I'd love to see

    Hopkins rematch in Cardiff
    Froch in Caridff
    Chad Dawson in America

Taylor would be a good fight for Calzaghe. Firstly it would erase the "Taylor beat Hopkins" thing, if Calzaghe infact beat both of em.

Secondly, its a pretty easy stylistic fight. Taylor is not a natural counterpuncher, and relies on a jab, which Calzaghe will dismantle easily. Also, under pressure he is susceptible as we saw against Pavlik, and his stamina will be seriously tested against Calzaghe's work-rate.

Finally, it would be worth a stack of cash.
