The doubters (myself included) have been silenced.

At 35 years of age, Calzaghe has rolled back the years and achieved what he had no right to achieve.

This was one of the great matchups..... 2 undefeated World Champions...... The much younger usurper in Kessler..... who had defeated all comers and had arguably lost only 2 rounds in his entire Professional career.......... against the aging Welsh Warrior in Calzaghe.

Make no mistake..... Kessler fought a a good fight..... He fought as a Champion should...... He was gallant in defeat.

He fought as well as he was alloweds to fight.

No other Super Middleweight would have got close to Kessler tonight.

But he was fighting a more skillful Welsh Champion with a warriors heart and a granite chin.

Congratulations Joe Calzaghe..... No matter where the future takes you....

You have fulfilled your destiny...... You have your Legacy. :good

I hope they can sort out a fight with Hopkins now, JC will give him a proper beating. I hope they dont go for a fight with Woods because that will be worthless. JC only wants a few more fights so might as well go for the big money fights.

I am not a fan of Joe Calzaghe but even I siad that should he beat Kessler he will go go down in history as one of the greatest Super Middleweights in history. Well done Joe Son you deserve it. He is up there with James Toney and Roy Jones Jnr. Kessler was as good as we thought but Clazaghe used his skills, guile and experience when under threat to pull it out. I don't want to hear anything negative about Calzaghe again. Please let us all vote to make sure he is BBC Sports personality of the year.

If only it will probably go to some other loser, like Hamilton, as it does most years.

We've have got winners and Hamilton is not a loser!

British boxing has never looked in better shape, Calzaghe should win sports personality of the year, unless Ricky does the business in Vegas!
