Hatton has improved his speed and he has good movement but is always known for his holding which does him no favours while Calzaghe is technically the best fighter Britain has ever had.But they don`t make me as proud to be British as Honeyghan, Benn and Eubank did when they were in their prime.Better fighters imo than Hatton and Calzaghe.

It will be intresting to see how working with Mayweather snr affects Hatton style. I think Hatton is a much better boxer than he gets credit for especially by the Americans. Only time will tell right enough if he has waited to long to start working with a new trainer.

Let's see, one guy is the undisputed champion at 140, beat guys like Collazo at 147, Tszyu, Castillo, Maussa(coming off a major win over Harris), Phillips and others. Then comes Calzaghe who dominated SMW for YEARS and beat guys like Lacy, Hopkins, Kessler, Sheika, Reid and many others in his career. Whoever rates either fighter as a scrub or a fake must be having some serious issues or just hates them. I admit I hated Calzaghe at some point and went as far as calling him that but to be honest it was completely unfair and stupid to do so.

Its quite refreshing to hear someone on here be man enough to admit they were wrong.

I wish more people would pull their heads out of their arse's and follow your example, Scar.

Doesn't surprise me. Scar is one of the best 3-5 posters on ESB and has been for years.

they're both very good fighters who wasted a large part of their careers defending meaningless belts against weak opposition. they both have names glaringly missing from their records, fights they could easily have made due to their drawing power. that's why people don't like them

I think they're both awesome. No matter what anyone says they are two of the most popular boxers currently.

As for Calzaghe, his achievements are great (i'll not list them as we are all well aware of them by now), Hattons IMO are quite similar, world champ in two different weights, fairly lengthy reigns, some decent names. Also, falling short of beating Mayweather is nothing to be ashamed of.

Has anyone seen any videos of hatton as an amateur? I've saw a few, he used to have awesome head movement, same type of aggression but he didn't get hit as much.

Hatton - Bores the hell out of me with his hit and hold style of fighting; was a bit miffed that he was ranked so high by websites and boxing magazines for so long pre-Mayweather.

Calzaghe - Can give or take; not too big a fan of his punch technique, but I give him massive dues for upping his game/competition from the Lacy fight to the present day. Is a solid No.2 P-4-P in my book.
