Calzaghe/Kessler fans are good at winding each other up, but looking at the fighters' comments they aren't really trash talking much, or even sound that up for it (I'm sure they are).

Not every fight needs it, but somehow I'm a little disappointed - a slapper comment here, an upright European style there. Not a lot in that

Vs Lacy Calzaghe, who is a serious egotist which is why I always said that he would fight Kessler (Lacy and Kessler are the only unification matches he's made cos they're the only ones that people have genuinely, genuinely believed could be better than him), Calzaghe was pretty animated.

Ok, trash talk ain't necessry, but it's almost like they're not bothered about each other. It's not quite respect, nor aggro either.

I guess it just seems muted. even if it was respectful, like "this is the clash of the two titans of world boxing, forget everything else this is the biggest fight in boxing - and I will win..."

I dunno, i'm tailing off now, sorry...

Joe is a nice guy and knows Kessler is a very good fighter so why wind him up. This is gonna be a great fight and should have the hype of De La Hoya/Mayweather because this is the real deal.

Its because they are very quiet, humble white men.

i like Calzaghe the fighter, but i've always thought he was about as arrogant as it gets when he's interviewed - and not in that mad, hype-making way that others have.

Like you say, it's the fight that counts.

I think they're most worried about how the fight is going to sell in Europe, and they know it's going to do huge $$$$ there whether they talk trash or not. Plus, the promotion's just getting started.

Hey, I hope that JC bites his ankle in a press conference. LOL!

    Just doubt it will happen.

Kessler looks like Max Kellerman's older, bigger brother.

I think the volume will get turned up the closer it gets to fight time. Not that it'll ever be a white-hot cauldron of emotion or anything, but it will get more heated.

Really, Warren and Palle should be able to stir the pot by themselves... ;)
Maybe they should fight on the undercard, heh.
