He's like this dude who used to post on a BBS back in the early 90's we frequented. Dude went by the name of Nop. Used to post these ****ed posts all the time, I mean always ****ed up. Went on for years, and some people claimed he was a normal dude. We finally met the dude, he was bat**** crazy, wearing puke covered clothes dragging a dirty mattress across the street.
He doesn't even post that much anymore, on the flipside, you don't seem to like anything regarding the sport or anybody here, all you do is come on and criticise. I don't see how coming on every now and then and being comical, talking boxing and other things is a call to 'grow up'.
Give it a try. I mean, I've seen you attempt, but saying things like, "Joes Handspeed is way too good for blah blah" isn't so much an analysis as it is more a statement on handspeed. You buy your own hyperbolic statements and expect others to agree with you. But you got your little followers, so it's all good.
When everytime you disagree with him, your Americanized or biased because your an American or a blind American....then it goes beyond just joking. And like I said in the past, I find him funny....and I find him to actually know something about the sport, but he refuses to use that knowledge when it comes to Calzaghe or MOST things American. I remember he made a post that American's were blind to the fact that Mosely was an old declining fighter and couldnt see how anyone would think that he could be competative with a much better, much younger non-American fighter in Cotto. Then after he not only was competative but arguably won the fight (I had the fight a draw), he spun what he said in another manner. Which is fine...but look back at that original statement and tell me why it couldnt be that he couldnt understand why people couldnt see Mosely was on the decline and why people would think he could be competative with a younger fighter like Cotto??? Why American and non-American (which BTW, Puerto Rico is A ****ING PART OF THE US)? The answer to that is because he is a nationalistic *****....it gets old and insulting, and Im far and I mean FAAAAAAAAAR from the only one who thinks so. If he went back to just cracking jokes and making unbelievably biased posts about Joe Calzaghe...I could deal with him and even defend him (as I said he is knowledgable)....but up to this point....not so.
He has never fought a fighter as talented as Chad Dawson though... If he does he will lose, no question.
His handspeed against Mitchell wasn't THAT impressive, no more so then against lacy.... Obviously he isn't going to look as good against a fighter like Kessler also... Mitchell stood in the pocket which is where Calzaghe really lets his hands go. Kess boxed. Totally different scenario. I think hand speed is actually one of the last things to go. A fighters legs seem to get old before that (speed and strength), and stamina declines also.
His handspeed against Lacy was not as good as it was against Mitchell. Against Mitchell, his handspeed was as good as it was versus Eubank. Watch Eubank, Mitchell and then Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler fights, he's evidently slower. Fights more intelligent now, but he's slower, if you can't see that then you aren't watching the same vid as us. He had already been noticeably declining in speed the year before the Lacy fight, just fought a perfect fight against Lacy and still had some of the best handspeed above 160. Calzaghe, even when declined in speed, is still quick a speedy fighter, but prime he was a blaze man.
Why so high on Dawson? We've known about and his abilities for a while now, also about potential vulnerabilities. I think Dawson's a great fighter in skill and ability, his mentality is good also, has a good style against Joe too, the funny thing though is that Joe has a tricky style for Dawson in the same right, they both kind of negative each other with different things. Fight's a toss up, you have me on record saying that. Dawson could beat Joe.
Based on styles and his advanced age, I would consider a clear cut win of Dawson bigger than his clear cut win over Kessler.
Calzaghe beating Dawson is much more impressive than beating Kessler. Kessler is a good fighter, but he was at a distinct stylistic advantage against Joe. I think Dawson beats Kessler pretty decisively as well. In fact, I believe Hopkins presents more stylistic problems to Calzaghe than does Kessler.
