Yeah it's nonsense idea that Joe could go up to HW, it would in his case sacrifice all the qualities that make him a great fighter.

Pointless thread as it won't happen period.

i am a joe calzaghe fan and think this would be very poor for joe,he got dropped in the first round of his last two fights imagine if a heavy weight caught him.
as much as i hate to admit it joe is starting to dwindle and would win on points against any hw in the world if he could avoid getting hit for 12 rounds, but at this point of his career i cant see it.

No one was saying about success at heavyweight, the question was could he beat John Ruiz at HW.

    Yes he could.

Doesnt matter whether he has the power to back Ruiz up or not, Calzaghe has the footwork and movement to dance around Ruiz all night come inside and pepper him with shots and moving out before Ruiz even has time to think.

    Wide UD for Calzaghe.

Ruiz is so bad there are sevral fighters that could move up and beat him. He is a slow plodder with very limited power for his size. Chad Dawson could, Hopkins could, so why not Calzaghe? Especially with Jay Nady as the referee those 3 guys would have a great shot.

Ruiz is the ONLY Heavyweight beltholder to lose to 2 former Middleweights. That is disgraceful. :rofl :patsch
