I was just about to say the same thing. Kessler was very good in the first half if I remember correctly. But Calzaghe had much better experience and adjusted. Higher ring IQ, no offense to Kessler.

You can take it the way you want to take it. I've had discussions with friends out of this forum that strongly claim Calzaghe was the underdog going in. I couldn't argue much and admitted that I didn't know the situations at the time because I wasn't following closely so I'm asking in this thread. Any posts that would make Calzaghe, Kessler, Ward, Lacy, Jones, Hopkins, Trinidad or Larry Holmes look bad or good will be instantly ignored by the author(ME) because I want an honest number on the odds in this one.

the majority agreed upon, as the fight took place in cardiff, that calzaghe was the favorite.

if you want to put % on it, then most had it 60-40 or 55-45 in favor of calzaghe.

Calzaghe was a clear favorite with odds around 7/4 (+175) on Kessler and 2/5 (-250) on Calzaghe.

I lost about 200$ on that one. Props to Joe.

btw those odds mean that Calzaghe was about 64%/32.5%/3.5% (W/L/D)

but you should take into consideration that brits are heavy gamblers and that UK fighters often get overevaluted at the sportbooks because of that.
