Calzaghe vs Lacy

Going on now on SHO Extreme.
Round 9 right now. Great fight, always a good watch. There is a very annoying woman ringside, that I can only assume is Lacy's wife, screaming her guts out distracting the hell out of him.

Why was this fight at 3 a.m?

 

Whoever did the rbr on this had an easy night. Each round is copy and paste.

 

Yeah I just checked out of that and switched over to the live card

 

Joe squares up a lot and drops his hands, I think he's a great fighter but I wonder how he really would've done against a real run of elite fighters

 

Ah man, these last 2 rounds are gold.

 

Props to Joe for letting it all hang out in the 12th to try to get his guy outta there. He could have coasted the last couple rounds for the easy win. True fighter.

 

I remember a lot of people thought Lacy was gonna KO joe and that he was a bum... man they were wrong.

 

11 years ago already. Probably got aired in black and white back then.

Fun fact. Since Calslappy his career went 6-6, 1KO, with his only stoppage win against some half assed journeyman.

You aint gonna recover from a beatdown like that. Feel very sorry for Jeff. He was completely humiliated on a grand stage

Calzaghe exploded on the US that night, stunned a ton of doubters and so called "experts" (can only imagine what ESB was like)

In retrospect Kessler and Hopkins were better wins, but man what a virtuoso performance he put on against Lacy

 

RJJ and Bika too, without a shadow of a doubt.

Yeah, that was a complete undressed. It's worst than getting knocked out.
Whatever psych he had left is utterly stripped.
Lacy career might have been different if he did not cross the pond that night.

 

Yeah I felt for him against Calzaghe. It was a little embarrassing. I also felt for him when jones jnr was taking the **** out of him quite bad in their fight. Makes it easier watching jones jnr getting ko'd regular when u see over the years how he mocked out classed opponents

 

Lacy's management were awful... The US thought Calzaghe was just hiding and not up to much and then he beat Lacy every minute every round barely took a punch and landed clusters of spiteful shots all nights....it was the sweet science in all its glory

but then after being hammered by a south paw they then put in him with another akward leftie who he had already struggled with. It was bizzare then he does his shoulder and that was that. If ever a man just needed a journyman latvian to go in wit Lacy was it
