Assuming neutral judging, Ward by close UD.

Imo, the only advantage Joe has is volume. Ward (being the smarter of the two) figures out a gameplan (with the help of his team, of course) with that in mind and proceeds to execute, making adjustments where necessary.

    Simple.

Calzaghe by wide UD. Ward gasses late and Calzaghe had great adaptability. It would resemble Calzaghe v Jones with Ward´s face lacerated to pieces.

The only way Ward would stand the chance of eeking out a split decision is if he visited Victor Conte again to get some PEDs.

    It´s irrefutable.

Ward all day every day, Calzaghe got a gift against an old Hopkins, Ward who fights like Hopkins but is younger, sharper & fresher beats the brakes off Calzaghe.

Age and Hopkins don't belong in the same sentence, he just became a world champion again for christ sake, so it's not a valid bench mark.

Ward and Hopkins are both awkward spoiling tacticians, it took Calzaghe several rounds to get started against Hopkins (most boxers never even get started) but once he finished probing and making his adjustments his work rate then took over.

A quality boxer with a high work rate is the perfect foil for a spoiling tactician. I cannot see any other conclusion than Calzaghe outworking Ward.

I still don't understand how people think Hopkins won this fight. I was there on the night and had a bet with the American guy in front, he paid up before the scores were announced and left.

I have since watched this again 2 times and think it was a close but obvious win for calzaghe. It didn't look pretty but who does against Hopkins.

I really rate ward but to say he would adapt and beat calzaghe is just wrong. Joe's biggest strength in my eyes is how he adapts to other fighters, see the Hopkins, Kessler and Mitchell fights... Even the Salem and bika fights where he proved how he could fight rough too.

When has ward proved he is better than joe at adapting? Froch is brilliant, but he doesn't exactly mix up his style and he is made for both calzaghe and ward.

Calzaghe will never get the credit he deserves because he fought a lot of cans and he can blame his promoter all he wants he could have signed with someone else, Hatton did.

Golovkin beats both but in this match, I fancy Ward.

    :rofl:patsch

    Based on what?

Golovkin has fought nobody near the level of these two ATG SMWs, whom are also much bigger than Golovkin.
I like Golovkin, but remove his nuts from your filthy mouth you big balloon you, aren't you the same plonker who said Bute would beat Ward just a little while back?
