What would you consider a Calzaghe-Woods fight? A reason for Calzaghe to keep his engine running? A fight to get him used to fighting big guys or what?

Looking at Woods style of boxing it seems as a low risk fight for Calzaghe IMO.

At least its a more competitive fight than Hopkins. Hopefully it will pave the way for a unification fight with Dawson, who's the real class of the division.
Woods is decent though and no push over. Much improved since his beating at the hands of Jones.

woods is a tool for calzaghe to build his legacy - he can then say former unified SMW champ and LHW champ.

i personally think that woods is a threat to calzaghe

No, Steve Bunce and Richie Woodhall believe this is a tune up fight at 175 pounds in March so that Calzaghe goes from there to the States with the IBF Title to put "The icing on the cake". I heard the Setanta interview with Steve Bunce and I don't really think he's scared to fight Hopkins in America at all... Hopkins wants to fight in the Summer and Joe can't stay half a year without a fight, the Woods fight means money and gets him prepared physically and mentally too.

What a waste. Bring on PBF vs Hatton, Pavlik vs Taylor and every other good fight out there until Calzag fights someone I could give a damn about. What a waste.

No disrespect to Woods but at this stage of his career Calzaghe needs to fight only the biggest names or undefeated young champions. Anything less is a waste of his talent.

Your a ****ing idiot when it comes to boxing. Keep your arrogant nationalistic **** to your self in future.

The emergence of non american fighters as among the best in the world seems to upset you for some reason.
Prime Hopkins might beat Joe. This old version dosen't.

Weird thing is. Outside boxing he's a knowledgable and entertaining poster (the lounge).
    I cant understand his bias.

Not necessarily, Woods is a good fighter and a legit LWHT Champion, it's not just a walk in the park for Joe so I disagree. It's a smart move for both to earn their money and make a good, great domestic fight in England with the whole World watching and getting Calzaghe that last bit of confidence to make the transition to the States.

Totally agree. (except with the personal insult) ;)

I might be in the minority, but I don't want to see Calzaghe/Hopkins.

In my opinion, Joe would win easily.

If Calzaghe/Woods is a stepping stone to Joe fighting Dawson, I'm all for it.
