Woods is known as the guy that got beat up by Jones, having the name Woods on your resume will do nothing in the way of helping Calzaghes legacy, I feel now that he must start fighting name fighters so there will be no doubts in peoples mind that he is in fact an ATG.

I'm in the United States, and if Joe dismantles B-Hop, I won't respect him anymore then I already do.

He is already an amazing fighter, in my books. Fighting Hopkins is just a big name on his resume, in my opinion.

If beating Woods leads him to Dawson, I will respect that more, then Joe beating Hopkins.

Joe is too busy for this version of B-Hop, and would win an easy UD, just by outworking him.

I'm no expert, and maybe there is a reason I'm in the minority.

    Just my 2 cents.

I think a lot of people will if the money is right or even if it's not a PPV event. Clinton Woods is the IBF LHWT Champ and Joe is stepping up to see if he can perform at the same level so there will be a lot of non-british boxing fans looking on, specially if they want to measure his performance with the best american LHWTs he is supposed to meet next... And I can surely guarantee it, he will. Cheers.

Maybe it's just me but that fight just doesn't appeal to me. I don't see it as a great matchup at all.

I hear what your saying, I honestly dont think Woods is a tougher challange than Hopkins, but I could be wrong. I just think if Calzaghe wants to really better his legacy he will fight Hopkins, he really needs that star name on his resume IMO.

For all of those who are not happy with Clinton Woods as an opponent for Joe Calzaghe, all I can say is this: tough luck.
Old man Hopkins may be what the casual boxing fans want, some kind of big name, blockbusting PPV, Las Vegas style night of the legends bull****, but let's be honest, it would be a **** fight. Hopkins would make sure of that.
Clinton Woods is a decent fighter, despite what all the haters think. All these "Woods is a bum" threads and posts are from people who simply don't know what they're talking about.

Anybody not liking the idea of Calzaghe v Woods doesn't have to watch. Instead, why don't you watch a re-run of Hopkins v Wright or something similar.

If he is not going to fight Bhop at 175 then He should just fight Dawson..Dawson would fight him in Wales in thats what he wants
