It seems after being offered $500 000.00 for the Tua fight Shane Cameron wants more money.
And why wouldn't he even though the money is great Camerons management have spent a lot of money on sanctioning fees with the WBO against no real notable fighters and now he finds himself rated no 6 in the world.
A couple more payments to the WBO and he will get a shot.

The Tua fight although good for the ego in the home town is a bad business decision everything to lose (no 6 world rating) and nothing to gain.

Yes it is and obviously his management and himself feel it's a bad match (despite other peoples opinion I feel he would be stopped)
But at no 6 in the world he is 2 fights away from a title shot.

Nothing to gain? How long is he going to sit at #6 waiting for a shot? Cameron wont make $500,000 in a title fight anyway and if he can't beat todays Tua, he wont be winning a belt.

I wouldn't be so sure Cameron is that close to getting a title shot. It's the Heavyweights after all. I'm not sure what the criteria is with the WBO but if he has to fight an eliminator, he doesn't beat any guy ranked higher than him so he wont be fighting Klitschko.

$500,000 is alot of money for a NZ based Heavyweight that no one knows about outside of the Asia Pacific. Meehan has been waiting around for ever for a shot at Yeti and he's the mando.

Beat Tua for $500,000 and get your name out there.

Yeah you make a good point it's crazy money for that fight, I don't think a contender would make that much for a WBO shot anyway.
But if they had real confidence they would have signed already.

It's ridiculous to knock back that much for Tua right now. Cameron hasn't got one decent name on his record besides Ahunya who stopped him. He needs some recognition. Tua helps with that and $500,000 aint enough?

His team are delusional. The kid is too small and gets cut in a strong breeze. Do they think he is the HW saviour or something?

    Madness.

Whats has Tua been doing for the last 15 mths?

He is only 36....I think...still should have the goods after a long break.

Wont be at his best but if he gets fit Cameron might find himself being bashed by one of the best punches in the game.

I would be going for Tua to win...if he gets in shape.

Cameron and his people are nuts! 500 g's and they are turning it down? i understand that this is a high risk fight, but if he beats Tua he will get his name on the heavyweight map and his stock will rise considerably. Cameron, take the fight for 500 grand.

    PLUS..............

I don't think a competitive lose to Tua wld hurt Camerons status all that much anyway.

Take the $500k, put up a good performance and the world is at your fingertips................... quite simply Cameron.............. back yourself.
