True, he was probably trying to just repeat what he did with Conor Benn.

It's called promotion and Eddie is a promoter.

He's selling a product and like any salesman they'll overstate their product's worth, whether it be a boxer , double glazing or a second hand car, if people bought in to any hype then that is job done for Eddie.

Sounds like you’re describing Del Boy for a second — had a flashback of Eddie and Frank Smith dressed up as Batman and Robin. All that’s missing is the three-wheeled Bentley and a suitcase full of Matchroom spring water.

Hearn does a lot of this sales talk with half a grin on his face its what it is.

'Campbell Hatton, exciting talent, like his father, we believe he can go all the way......he's just taken out the number 3 ranked Danish super lightweight, Rigo Mortis, no ones ever buried him like that'.

Kid gave it a go, better off retired and at 25 staying so before he really does get hurt.

I think anyone who bought Peckham Spring would be highly likely to hang on to every word of a boxing promoter too !

The pre-Saudi/Dazn, Sky version of Matchroom was a promotion masterclass by Hearn.

True — if Don King was flogging Peckham Spring, he’d toss in a Rolox watch “straight from the factory,” a glow-in-the-dark crucifix, and an exploding inflatable doll, all while preaching the American Dream.

Hearn’s slick, but he’s no match for King’s wit, grit, and world-class bull****. And Frank Smith? He’d swear he’s had the same broom since his tea boy days — 17 new heads, 14 new handles later.

The kid gave it a go, it takes guts to get in that ring and he had the guts to do it, so he gets my respect immediately regardless of how talented he may or may not have been.
I wish him well for his future.
