http://www.rds.ca/combats/chroniques/308706.html I know it's in french but....Carwin out due to a back injury....either 8 to 12 week no surgery and if he need it, he doesn't know when he will be back... **** THAT **** ! [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_125[/ame] hahaha, rumor of Roy Nelson VS Lesnar...lol !
Ain't gonna lie, would like to see Nelson vs. Lesnar. A worthy replacement. Shame to see Carwin out, was really hoping to see if he could stop Nelson. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/mma/post/2010/10/carwin-no-fight-with-nelson-at-ufc-125/1 Another story btw.
****, that was a good matchup. Nelson Vs Lesnar is February is a good shout, this might be a tad too soon though. Brilliant fight that, Nelson is the perfect opponent for Lesnar to show if he can make improvements. Nelson is a skilled, hard-punching, iron chinned fat **** (!) who will make it interesting/test most of the top ten-15 Heavies. Brock is a freak but Nelson would have a lot going for him in that fight.
As it stands, if Nelson could(and he would IMO) survive the first he would have a damn good shot at Carwin. He was a perfect gauge to see how Shane was gonna look after such a crushing defeat.
How long will Brock be out with that cut looked a bad one? Would be a great fight but I can't see Dana letting it go Big Country is a big risk from everywhere. Big Roy vs Schaub II ?
Terrible news. Christ, this is why they shouldn't have cut guys like Werdum, Arlovski, hell, even Sylvia or Duffee. Too bad SF and UFC cannot do joint promotions here and there.
They didn't really cut Andrei, they just weren't going to pay him $1,500,000 to fight like Affliction did.
Affliction were haemorrhaging cash from the time they ran their first show. Economically it was never going to be a promotion that was going to be around for a long time. The promoters knew this. That said the UFC were paying Arlovski $500k per showing. Andre had been with the UFC for some time and deserved better than that. He much like Brock was given the "push" because he looked like a Spartan. No one took into account how bad his chin was. Because of his losses they saw him as a bad investment and pretty much treated him like a can by putting him near the bottom of the bill in his last few fights.
Gents id say Lesnar is a long shot bearing in mind the cut he got , and the inevitable medical suspension , Frank Mir is favourite for me , he's really the only one on the market big enough to fill a co main event , thats if Big Nog is still injured !!!! And i think Mir would be too good for Nelson , thinking about it actually the UFC should be rubbing there hands together , another fight were they can keep a poster boy (In Mir) away from a dynamic wrestler and still keep him relevant with a high - ish profile win !!!
