What does everyone think about this fight? I can't believe Katsidis is a 2/1 favorite. I think Casamayor wins this easily by decision or stops him late.

Katsidis in his last fight fought for his life and won a close decision against Czar Amonset! Czar; 2 fights before this was knocked out in the 1st by a guy with a record of 14-5!

I think Casamayor should be the 2/1 favorite!

I think Katsidis has a great chance of winning but the betting odds should definitely be the other way around. After all Casamayor is still the more experienced guy who holds the ring belt. I hope Katsidis wins.

Casamayor has been past his prime for about 3-4 years now I can easily see the younger and more hungry Katsidis beating that ass.

It's the same thing as when Guzman was fighting soto, most ppl were saying Soto by KO......The ppl saying Hatton KO'ing PBF.....and now Calzaghe stopping Hopkins (don't wanna start no ****, just saying that most ppl automatically jump on the aggressor's bandwagon and i'm not one of them)

    I see Casa by UD.

Even though i can't stand him.

Casamayor is the underdog because of how horrible he looked the last time out and the general opinion is that he's nearly shot. However, most people don't mention that his last opponent is a very underrated LW who is easily a level or two above Katsidis. Santa Cruz is physically very large and he worked his way inside with a solid jab before firing off combinations. Katsidis doesn't know what a jab is and just rushes/lunges inside with a half-guard, then fires off looping punches while searching for openings. This type of style has worked for him in previous fights against C levels, but I doubt it will work even against a nearly shot Casamayor. Katsidis will be completely ineffective from the outside and Casamayor's jab/movement will be a big problem for him. When he gets on the inside, Casamayor will either move out of the way, time punches on him coming in, or tie him up. Katsidis will become frustrated with his slick defense and continuous clinching, so he'll end up fighting even sloppier than usual. If Casamayor has anything left and isn't completely shot he'll be able to beat Katsidis. A KO is possible but not as likely as a decision win only because an old Casamayor will not be going for a stoppage, but Katsidis' skin cuts extremely easily so a cut stoppage has a pretty good chance of happening. I usually favor the younger, hungrier fighter in this type of matchup, but Katsidis, as wild as he is, isn't very hard to control and outbox.. even for an old, nearly shot fighter like Casamayor.

Saying all that though, I wouldn't be shocked at all if Katsidis just blew him out. It's possible that Casamayor is actually shot at this point and will not be able to deal with any high pressure fighters.

Good analysis, It's a style clash so anything can happen, especially with Katsidis. It's the reverse IMO, (katsidis strengths will overcome Casa's) but if what you say comes to fruition then it'll be a tough night for Kat.

No, not just that fight, but his last 5. In his last 5 fights, 2 should have been losses (Kid Diamond, Santa Cruz) and the third Corrales fight, where Chico was drained and listless, could have went either way. Since he fought Castillo in 04, Casa hasn't looked good at all. Even Chico wasn't crazy about fighting him again when he was on FNF during Casamayor-Pearson because of how poorly Casamayor looked.

Yeah, that's true. But if the Santa Cruz fight never happened and Casamayor was taking on Katsidis after a 2 year layoff I doubt he would be such a big underdog. I think it's a 60/40 fight for Casamayor.. I'm definitely not very confident in Casamayor winning. Hopefully he does lose, the guy's always seemed like an *******.

which Casa will show up? That is the question, not as good as he used to be, so we will soon find out as always, but only in the ring.

I'm thinking Cass wins a UD against Katsidis. I like Katsidis' style of fighting as it is interesting from a fans perspective, but against a very good highly skilled fighter like Cass, he will look bad and at times may even look horrible.

I find it hard to believe Kat is a 2/1 favorite, but I would take that.

lol, its really funny how people quickly jump on the bandwagon:yep

    katsidis by KO?:rofl

casa hasn't been KOed before and he's been with people with more punching power than what katsidis has, casa is also crafty even for an old guy very intelligent fighter. His 3 loses were close if you check the scores.

Got my money on casa. Casa by UD:good
