Did anybody see that ****? OMG how unprofessional... The whole telecast was so ghetto it's not even funny..

The two are trading blows and when the end bell rings, the ref doesnt even break them up so Segura continues to land on Canchilla like 10 seconds after the bell rings and the the ref stops the fight.... WTF??? :huh

It was so bizzare... IT was turning into a war too and Canchilla was starting to come one...

Did any of you see a fight like this before? WHy isn't anybody talking about this robbery?

Canchilla should have kept the fight technical. He got outslugged although the ref should've stopped at the bell.

Yes, the end of the 4th round was egregious.
    The timekeeper rang the bell.
Segura hears it, apparently the only one, looks at the ref who doesn't intervene and decides to keep fighting.
Segura clocks Canchilla a few more times. The ref decides he has had enough and stops the fight.

However, the ref should have stopped the fight in the first round. Canchilla had no business continuing after the first round knockdown.
The ref asked him to move forward. He doesn't.
The ref asks him to move forward again. He moves BACKWARDS into the corner.
The ref asks him to move forward again. He finally does. Wobbly.
The ref gives him a strong look while he is standing there swaying for a few seconds and finally lets him continue.

It should have been a KO in the first round

Haven't seen it, but it sounds like it should be petitioned to be a no contest. No way that result should be allowed to stand. How can a fight be waved off BETWEEN rounds?

Doesn't sound like a good night for the ref.

yep. that was as blatant as it gets. the only possible excuse the ref could come up with was that he couldnt hear the bell over the crowd. otherwise, canchilla got raped in public.

Ha! Even the ring card girl knew it was between rounds!

THanks for posting - it didn't look like anything shady, the ref could have stopped it earlier if that was the goal. He just screwed up and wasn't paying attention I guess. Indefensible, really.

yeah I posted a thread right after the fight I also thought the whole situation was kind of phony. However this is also what I noticed:
Why was Canchillas corner inside the ring and at what point did they get in?
Canchilla did not complain one bit after the fight nor his corner.
The comentators said that Canchillas corner waved their towel is this correct?
Segura almost TKOd Canchillilla in the first round any other ref would have stopped the fight. So to finalize, it was a great fight nonetheless but crappy reffing I would love to see a third fight.

    That was ridiculously bad refereeing.

What's up with all the awful mistakes later, like the 5 minute round in Ngoudjo v Urango aswell.
