How about "Shut Down The UKs Only Dedicated Boxing Channel"? That'd get votes from quite a few boxing fans....;-)
Laz has nailed it for me. Nice idea but won't work and can remember e-mailing Channel 5 years ago to get Bunce on there channel. They will do what they like which is obviously there right..
We should petition for channel 5 to axe boxing more like. Was shite anyway. Least if they go boxnation, big fights like price v fury are more likely to happen and if eubank, galahad, etc leave to go with hearn again we get to see big domestic fights that wouldn't happen if they stay on channel 5. Every ones a winner.......except hennessey
I just wanna see the Fury fight live next month, after that 5 can do one. If they are half assed about having boxing on then its never going to be decent coverage to begin with (its pretty bad now apart from Bernstein). As some are saying 5 pulling out could well be a blessing in disguise (for fans anyway) as it may force Hennessy over to boxnation which would certainly be a boost they're domestic set up. Will sign the petition anyway to support the sport.
People should sign it anyway. I know it likely won't work but at least you're showing you care. If Channel 5 axe boxing and receive no flak for it then in their minds it will only justify to them that they've done the right thing. Need to let them know that people care about boxing and want it on, not the shite reality shows set Wales that they'll obviously make to replace it.
From Channel 5 to me... @JohnHoolan We are not pulling out of boxing, and we are currently in talks for the Tyson Fury fight in April
