Let’s get in early. What’s the predictions?

    I’m going 100k buys.

I think Charlo’s both delivered yesterday but PBC missed a massive trick not putting this on regular TV. Both fought good fighters not known to casual fans or the public but decent level to the hardcores.

Putting them on Fox together would have been the move and get them showcased. Issue it seems is Haymon has promised a lot of fighters multi million dollar PPV paydays. But hasnt built them to PPV level fighters to this point.

Getting Jermell for instance three fights against Sergey, Rosado and sulecki for instance in free TV within 15 months would have been a great build up. Then put him on PPV in a meaningful fight against someone like Andrade.

instead they stick them on this PPV. pay them a few mil and we won’t see them again for 12-18 months. By which time they will be put on another b level PPV

There had so many things working against this.

Neither Charlo is a big name
The under card might have been stacked for boxing fans but there was no causal appeal there
It was up against a UFC card (which had an awesome ESPN + bundle)
    The Pandemic and cost
If they get 100k at $75 they are looking at $7.5m then Showtime take their cut... Purses ain't gonna be great are they...

But yeah 100-120k. Very ill judged imo

They'd be lucky to get 100k buy

This was guaranteed to do bad numbers
In direct competition against a stacked and heavily promoted UFC event which had one of its biggest stars fighting

I'd be surprised if it goes over 100k

It's a sad reflection on the state of professional boxing in North America if it doesn't break 100,000 buys.

Junior Tszyu v Horndog in Australia did 100,000 buys @ A$60. Australia has a population half that of California.

Even if you don't like the Charlos, these fights were competitively matched. Where are all the viewers tuning in to see them lose?

Just don't see these guys selling ppv's. Both are unlikable as hell, and don't have that Floyd charm to sell that kind of thing. After all this time I still don't know which one is which and I doubt the public does either. Don't really have any kind of big hometown fan base that I know of. Good fighters but I just don't see them becomming big draws any time soon

Floyd Mayweather charm? Floyd spoke in sound bites, his funniest moment was probably when he was in the UK and called the brothers of that guy Davis destroyed "leprechauns", haha. That was funny but few and far between, Floyd isn't exactly a showman.

I think the Charlos are much more charismatic than Floyd, especially because they have that twin factor that causes an amusing dynamic between them. They are funny as hell, it reminds me of the relationship between Goku and Vegeta, where Jermall is Goku and Jermell is Vegeta, Jermall like Goku just knows how to get under Jermell's skin, and push his buttons. Millions if not billions of people of all ages enjoy Dragonball z, partly because of the relationship between Goku and Vegeta, and if showtime can somehow capture the same interactions between Jermall and Jermell, I think it will be TV gold, and would draw in the casual fans.

The PPV numbers are known by end of fight. the only thing that needs to be worked out are refunds due to bad feeds etc.. but they have the numbers. Don't think they will release the numbers though. Its probably embarrassing.
