Why claim the fight was “ locked in” when it’s clearly not?
Why turn down 2 WBC title fights for a fight that wasn’t going to happen?

Both fighters agreed terms but no contracts were sent by the Saudis... it was as good as locked in. I am 100% confident that we will see Joshua vs Wilder in 2024. Both fighters want it and I'm sure someone will step up with a site deal to pay both fighters their worth.

'100% confident' is that really you Eddie?

As for paying both fighters their worth?
How much do you think AJ deserves to fight Wilder?
Surely he must have been making DAZN a loss since he's been fighting for them.
No big gates and I'm guessing very little extra DAZN subscriptions to offset against his massive purses for fighting bums.

AJ is no longer the big money making machine he was before Usyk.

It's not locked in so that isn't as good as locked in. The Saudis won't pay the money for this fight. Given that no promoter has been able to put this fight on in 8 years how can you be 100% sure this will happen?

I think even the Saudis got cold feet after watching Joshua's dismal last outing

Wilder-Joshua was locked in, except for the part where it wasn't locked in and AJ laboured with some bum taxi driver instead.

AJ's fight back in April against Franklin gave a huge boost to DAZN UK's subscription base.
