McCloskey got a get out of jail free card IMO, this was the best possible outcome for him apart from winning obviously. Now instead of being defeated, he is 'cheated not defeated' and so in the eyes of the general irish population that know **** all about boxing, he is still a winner.
yeah. wont agrue with that. McCloskey will want to have fought on, anyone that says he wanted to quit is a deluded clown in my opinion, but they should be able to spin the current situation and make the most of it.
My avatar is so because he was defeated in my eyes. If the rules of the WBA were if after 6 rounds if someone is planning to knock the winning fighter out so it shouldn't go to the scorecard, then fine, he wasn't defeated but those are the rules. Im not trying to wind anyone up i've just had enough of everyone making a big deal out of it when in fact it has benefited McCloskey in a weird way. If it was the other way round everyone would be laughing at Khan if he said that he was planning to KO him in the later rounds and McCloskey was getting tired etc, they would have said it went to the scorecards, you didn't win enough rounds, so **** off. It's just when the McCloskey fans are making out as if the KO was nailed on in the later rounds it becomes laughable. The decision has been made, most likely isn't going to be overturned or will there be a rematch... so move on, everyone with half a brain cell knows it's a bull**** stoppage no matter what they say, but stupid decisions happen in boxing all the time.

Mccloskey said after the fight Khan was knackered after a couple of rounds yet the "exhausted" khan was able to buzz mccloskey a few times and when Paul finally tried to be more offensive in the sixth he was caught and hurt..it is a shame about the stoppage but if Mccloskey planned to be more aggressive in the later rounds it would be him in danger of being stopped not Khan. Having said that Khan will have to improve significantly to be in with a chance against Bradley.
