Its about Margarito ... and how he stacks up against some great welterweights ...

I honestly don't think Margarito could beat a prime 147 Tito or Oscar. Remember Tito losses are at 160 and 170lbs.(Where he doesn't belong)

I agree a prime Oscar would take Margarito to a decision or stop him late ...

Tito definitely stops him mid rounds ... Tito is stronger and faster than Margarito at 147.

I'd say late rounds...I would look at the Mayorga fight. Mayorga had a STONE chin. Never been KD or KO'd before...he was stopped in the 8th. But Mayorga gave him a lot opportunities as well. Margarito isn't a showboater so the opportunities wouldn't be as many. BUT Margarito IS an easy target so I see a late round stoppage.

Honestly, I think Margarito loses all those fights apart from possibly Cuevas and Napoles, who would definately outbox him but could get stopped on cuts with Margo's constant pressure. I'd still back him to take a decision though.

The key to the victory over Margarito is just plain old fashioned boxing. Both Cotto and Cintron proved that no welterweight puncher can knockout Margarito. If you can't beat him on points you can't beat him. It is clear that prime DLH could out box Margarito, it is not so clear about Trinidad.

Do you need telling that guys like Trinidad and Hearns hit way harder than Cotto & Cintron?

Trinidad would decapitate his ass, even today, and Sugar Shane is going to do what was written about the other sugar.

WTF? Houston picks Margo over Benitez. Benitez would outbox his arse. Prime Oscar and Tito would also beat him.
