come on man. youre not seriously trying to group all these guys in the same class are you? Current UFC Heavyweight Crop TIER 1 - JDS CAIN TIER 2 - CARWIN TIER 2.5 - LESNA the others
how you ganna rank carwin above lesnar or overeem? nonetheless my point is if you cant make a shitload of interesting and competitive fights out of this crew then you dont know **** about mma. imagine roy nelson vs pat barry. it would be a barnburner!
yeah thats the problem...depth- If cormier, fedor, arlovski, monson, silva, werdum, and barnett were added it would guve the ufc much more depth.
Kongo is mma's heavyweight litmus test. Kongo may not be an elite fighter, but he is the clearest separator of pretender and contender.
no.1 heavyweight -JDS no.2 Cain no.3 Overeem no.4 Barnett no.5 Werdum no.6 Lesnar no.7 Carwin no.8 Cormier no.9 Kharitonov no.10 Silva
Yeah, I think in the UFC he clearly fills that role. I thought for a while that Roy Nelson might be that guy, but it turns out that Roy might be a little better than that. Might be, a little. :hat
This :deal I have a feeling that even though Barnett is a drugs cheat he would still smoke 99% of the UFC heavyweight's. I like to see Barnett Vs The Reem! Lynchburg
I am disappoint :verysad Do you really think MMA will be dead soon like Chimba said? I can't see it myself. I can only see it getting bigger and bigger. There are more shows all the time where i live and in the surrounding areas... Lynchburg
The UFC has saturated the market. Regional shows are nice. But the reality is if they're not bringing in the revenue or the marquee names then these go by the bye quite quickly. The UFC is killing this sport slowly and they know it. A monopoly is not good for longevity nor competition. And truth be told my interest in MMA is waning significantly. Been watching this sport for a long time and the quality of the athletes has nose dived. Apart from big name fights i have little to no interest in most of the UFC shows. You cant keep feeding a man the same meal and expect him to always be satisfied. Variety is the spice of life. MMA has none.
Perhaps. But what happens once the market dries up? MMA goes back to where it started Im not sure if MMA has taken a nosedive in quality. Some divisions are weaker for sure, but others, eg lightweight and LHW have become pretty stacked Its probably more your interest in watching MMA has lessened over the years. I know mine has
No. I LOVED the early UFC's, PRIDE DEEP etc. There was so much choice. So much variety. And the sport was much closer to Vale Tudo which made it far more exciting and produced much better quality fights. That has now been replaced with hybrid wrestling Pankration style. Iv got no interest in that. Plus the stars have gotten older and have not been replaced with the same depth and quality.
That is your personal opinion. Scurla, the simple fact is that MMA in the PRIDE and early UFC format that you loved so much was not and is not ever going to become a respectable, mainstream sport in the US, which is where the money is. Simple as that. You do not seem to understand that although you may not like hybrid wrestling-based octogon fighting, others don't enjoy seeing guys getting their heads soccer kicked and stomped. Because that is not a sporting competition, it is a televised street fight. And this is the prevalent view in the mainstream community. That's why it was one step away from being outlawed completely just a short handful of years ago. :hat
