All things considering he has had a great career and has been a great servant to boxing. He has always been up to fight anybody anywhere always gives a 100% effort he has had some really good wins along the way as well and unlucky not to have official victories over Helenius, Whyte and Parker. He has caused some upsets and it is pretty rare for him to be in a bad fight.
It would be nice if one of the champions fought as many "names" as Chisora, but since Holyfield, no one has done that
Except that Holyfield was the undisputed champion of the cruiserweight and heavyweight categories. As well as a 4-time Heavyweight champion, so I wouldn't compare him to Chisora.
Holyfield accomplished far more but they've both got double-digit losses and brain damage for the same reasons.

His first loss to Pulev was not controversial though. I remember giving him like 3 rounds. They almost robbed Pulev if anything lol
Technically he doesn't qualify as he's a title challenger (2x), which makes him a contender by definition. Ross Puritty surely holds that distinction at heavyweight. Bowe has it bad (must have a weaker constitution than Holyfield or Chisora) due to porous defence and too many tear-ups.
They let Pulev get away with a lot of holding in Germany. In Britain they didn't and the outcome was reversed.
