I'd say 50/50 but only because Ortiz is so old now. If we rewind about 4 years then I'd say Ortiz wins this easily.

I agree with you I like Joyce he's not spectacular but he seems to get the job done just hope he gets a shot at a belt before he gets too old hopefully the fact he started boxing late means he has a long time before then

Ortiz didn't duck no Joshua. Joshua tried to fight Ortiz in short notice. 2 weeks to be exact.

Ortiz called out AJ and said he was willing to step in and fight AJ (Ortiz stating that he was a gym rat and always in shape) . AJ team called his bluff and made the offer to which Ortiz team turned it down. It's a duck.

That's not the excuse Ortiz used, after being offered 7 million he said he wasn't aware of the offer and that his management had refused to accept the deal without his knowledge. Obviously that sounds like total BS, what boxer wouldn't want to be kept informed of negotiations of a fight let alone a world title shot vs the biggest cash cow in the division.

Also Ortiz was Joshua's mandatory, threatened to take Joshua to court if he didn't get his shot, but obviously that again was BS. Ortiz was more than happy to jump ship to PBC and get what was perceived as an easier title shot for far less money when offered Wilder. Fact is Ortiz has always been risk adverse, that's pretty clear from his behaviour throughout his career, from ducking Joshua, Ustinov and countless fights vs complete journeymen in recent years. Fact is he never wanted Joshua or anyone else he thought would be tough to beat, he's been more than happy fighting mediocre opposition for mediocre paydays for his entire career, he lacks the ambition or belief.

He jumped ship from Goldenboy when they tried to make him fight Ustinov despite literally just signing with them, paying to buy out his contract with them. Then when Matchroom put him in against difficult opponents in Scott and Allen who made him look bad he again jumped ship to PBC looking for a promoter who would feed him easy opponents. If he really had any ambition he would of fought Ustinov, would of waited for his multi million pound mandatory shot vs Joshua but instead he's always looked for the easier, safer path, even if it meant less money.

Jersey Joe Walcott had bigger fish to fry while Ortiz was in his prime

As of today I'd pick Ortiz basically because he hits harder and a fight between two old fighters would come down to power because neither one is going to slip many punches.

Takam lost every round vs Povetkin before he was KOd. He gave a ridiculous amount of trouble to Joyce recently before being wrongly stopped though.

I think if they fought this year Chisora would win relatively easily.
