I had been thinking we were due for an update on Chris John, and it was reported today that his next fight will be 20 April vs Satoshi Hosono in Jakarta, Indonesia. I'm a little surprised, as Hosono has recently lost two world title fights as a challenger, to Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym in 2010 and Celestino Caballero in 2011, and subsequently has just two wins over low-to-mid-level opponents. Obviously there are better opponents out there for John, but Hosono is probably just about the best from the group that would be willing to fight in Indonesia.

On a side note, John's countryman Daud Yordan is once again to be featured on the undercard, defending his own featherweight title against Simpiwe Vetyeka of South Africa.
