Read in Boxing News last week that Chris Long has had to retire, just thought he deserved a thread as I've saw him fight as the away fighter round this way a few times and he's always gave a good account of himself, always came to fight never rolled over. Saw him give Scott Evans a good fight for a Midlands strap, get a decent draw with unbeaten Rob Hunt that was shown on Sky, give Dean Harrison a few problems for an International Masters strap until retiring with an injury, got a shock win over current English lightweight champ Martin Gethin and was involved in a decent little scrap with Steve Saville - He's also been in the ring with the likes of Gomez, Fewkes, O'Donnell. Always was a good value "away fighter" so just wanna give him a mention and good luck in the future.
