    was he the real deal or not and why was he never a champion, rocky graziano looked like he threw the fight with him he never landed a clean shot nor appeared to go very hard.

    Well, he was never a champion because he got his ass beat the one time he challenged for a title, and then faded away after that. He was an OK contender with an awkward and potentially difficult style, but not great.

    He was a big star of the early television era. Not good enough to be champion though.
