clarence henry today....

    could he compete with todays heavies and would he be a contender or potential champion? with a 34-6-1 record and a heavy right hand how would he fare today?

    absolutley, if he could chop down big bob baker, he can take these buffoons today. i defintley think he picks up a belt. the papers compared a talent level was compared to walcott and charles..

    according to box rec he fought and beat some pretty good fighters. how come he didnt get a shot at a title?

    Big Bob Baker would be tiny bob baker today. Henry was not in Charles or Walcott's class. No credible historians or serious fight fan would say that.

    In fact he wasn't in Archie Moore's class either. Moore easily defeated Baker.

    I view Henry as a solid contender in the 1950's. Maybe he could be bottom level top ten fighter today.
