Yeah Baer was naturally a very big and powerfully built dude, big hands, massive shoulders, very broad back, very thick neck and huge head. He had a washboard belly at 215lbs back in the 30's today he'd probably top 230.

He didn't have real bulky muscles, but he was pretty well muscled up. He had "essential muscles", if you will. Nothing excessive, which is unnecessary and dosen't add up to real power. Ali wasn't especially muscled up either. extra musculature would have worked against him too in another way.
