Yeah, awful performance. Sad because he's a nice guy and got where he has on hard work?

Clueless to call the guy a bum, unless you're in the habit of calling major belt holders bums.

Clinton was awful - next fight should be against Froch in a domestic LHW dust-up.

I have Woods-Johnson 0-3, and Tarver-Johnson 2-0. Clinton is average european fighter no more no less.

Have you seen the 3 Woods / Johnson fights!
Clinton bossed the 3rd one and almost stopped Johnson..it was a clear cut victory.

Clinton was a legit champ and deserved his title. Did anyone see how he bashed Rico Hoye, back when he was getting hyped?

His loss to RJJ, he went down swinging and earnt a fair bit of praise for it. In that fight he pushed Roy to perform, unlike Roy's last few opponants at the time, remember his last before that was Glenn Kelly. Thats why he got stopped so brutally.

Im at a loss to explain his dismal performance against Tarver, I actually fast forwarded a lot of it because it was quite shite fight. Tarver hasnt looked good for a while, and really didnt look that great the other night either.

Reason he looked so ****, maybe...
Tarver is a counter puncher and he makes you pay for missing. I think Clinton just feared falling further behind earlier on, so didnt push to fight and by the time he tried to do something about it Tarver was in a groove.

Clinton is a boxer, with good fundamentals. He has never been a big puncher, so he usually gets his wins by being methodical and keeping it pretty simple.
Clearly Tarver still needs something more than "pretty simple" to get by him.
Plus his best weapon is usually his jab, which of course is less effective against a southpaw usually and Tarver isnt just any southpaw.
To be honest the only southpaw I ever recall Woods fighting was Yawe Davis. Who was by no means a top fighter and that fight was pretty scrappy from memory.

But in the end it will be remembered as an uncharacteristically meek performance to see his title slip away.

If thats how you scored the Woods - Johnson trilogy your an idiot. I have 2-1 Woods, some would have it 2-1 Johnson. The 2nd and 3rd fights are clear victories on either side. Only the first one was controversial.

I think what made the 3rd one seem controversial in some people's eyes was that 9th round where Clinton got toweled.

Other than that I thought he won most rounds.

Woods looked terrible. I do not ever want to see him on American TV again.

it was a very bad performance by woods,he just didnt show much heart for the fight at all, however i have to praise antonio who put his combinations together very well and showed some top ring movement although i dont think he was in any danger because clinton was more concerne with keeping a high guard rather than anything else,he didnt seem to want to get on the inside when he was being moved all over the place on the outside,he really could have slowed tarver down bu he never seemed interested.

i like woods he's a good honest boxer, and although not at an alite level he still is a high class performer and to call someone a bum for not being elite is calling 99% of the boxing fraternity bums.

people on this site really have to question their allegiance to boxing and if they are simply looking for celebrity boxing or actual boxers, for me it seems to be an american culture to tarnish people who lose as bums and glorify those not at the very top level as unable to grace a ring.its sickening.
