I've been watching some tapes of his fights and he was really good! He got a shouler injury and then was never the same again, but prior to that (up to the Maurizio Stecca fight) he looked like he could've been really world class.

    Anybody seen much of him?

Yeah i remember him he was quality, remember him losing to Robinson was a bit of a shock. We had a few good little men back then, robinson, mckenzie, jones, mcmillan :good

A beautiful boxer! Easily world-class. Just couldn't bang and shoulder inj ended him essentially before he reached his prime.

Was dying to see him and Hokko get it on.

If you have not seen it, watch the Stecca fight. At the time it was considered the finest boxing performance by a British fighter since the days of Buchanan.

Those names bring back some memories, two great fighters, colin was class shame as said he didn't have much of a punch but he had all the moves

To quote Mcguigan Colin was a mixture of Robinson and leonard

Sweet C stopped enough people, don't worry about his power. He worked on accuracy.

    Adios.

As boxing news said "he does not have much power, but when you can box like a dream it does not matter"

His British title efforts against Murphy and De Roux ( i think ) were punch perfect. The latter he won by stoppage in about 7 from memory. He lay on the ropes slipping everything and coming back with sharp counters.

Stecca was an olympic champion and a good pro ( before that achievement is belittled )

Palacios was rough tough, but with 2 arms Colin would have won.

Everything there after is a very different fighter. But on his night he was fantastic.

Deceptively good body puncher as well. Not in the way of McCallum or Hatton where he battered the body. But every now and then whack. People definitely felt them. He had enough pop to stop people walking him down.
