aye one of the indians looked like he'd do alright if he switched over, bradley saunders boxes very well at times also, havent thought about it a whole lot though


wasnt so impressed with callum smith

 

Callum Smith is an interesting one enormous for the weight when he moves into the pros looks like he will move through the weights.

 

Eamonn O'Kane could turn over tomorrow.

Paddy Gallagher probably should.

 

Indians supprised me to be honest

Khan was not as good as i thought ( comparing to amir)

saunders was good

There was a figher from england who won this morning from liverpool he looked good and solid

Not sure about ogogo as the indian done nothing really

 

The guy who beat Khan today looked the business.

 

Tom Stalker is the scouser in question at lightweight

He is 26 already however so i doubt he will turn over and especially at this advanced age for a lightweight. he is probably on a decent enough wage being a top end amateur

i think saunders would do well,sure i read him somewhere saying he is going to turn after 2012.

With regards to stalker being 26 and not looking likely he will go pro, do some top amateurs never turn pro if it was me id always be thinking what if..i know not all have the style to be successful pros but i imagine most would wanna give it a go?

 

I have to say that I don't follow the current amateur scene (or the pro scene for that matter) very closely any more. Hardly at all really. And there aren't that many fighters amateur or pro that impress me to the highest degree.

That said, from what limited footage I've seen of the Commonwealth's up to press, I'm pretty impressed by McGoldrick and Gallagher. That kind of good schooling and cute style is quite rare even today's professional ranks, never mind the amateur ones. They catch my eye more than blokes than Stalker and Saunders, both of whom I find hard to watch.

But I could be misguided on the basis that I've seen hardly anything else of McGoldrick and Gallagher outside of these games.

 

John Taylor the scottish lightweight has about the fastest hands you will see and a really nice southpaw style, turns at the hip with all his shots and some real nice accurate counter punching. He's only had 2 points against him in his four fights so far, final against Stalker to go.

The Indian at middleweight looked really good in the fight I seen him in.

A guy called Valentino Knowles at lightwelter from St Vincent looked amazing in his quarter final but i see today that he got beat on points against the indian in his semi final.

Calum Johnston at 81 kg for Scotland has a brilliant style to watch, peek a boo and really agressive with loads of body shots and he can bang too, pretty excited to see what he can produce.

The little flyweight from India Suranjoy Singh, really looks good. As good as I have seen in these games.
