Wilder was the first American World Heavyweight Champion since Shannon Briggs. Upon reflection has Wilder eclipsed his predecessor? Who do you think will go down in history as the better fighter once Wilder decides to retire?

Liakhovich was Briggs' best ever win, he took him out while down on the cards with literally a second to go.

Wilder had him convulsing on the canvas inside 2 minutes and Liakhovich went on to give Andy Ruiz a competitive 10 round distance fight.

Wilder is the most significant American heavyweight of the 21st century thus far. Maybe Anderson or Torrez will surpass him but Briggs has never been in the running.

Both were very limited punchers. But Wilder, at least, wasn't KTFOed by somebody like Darroll Wilson or beaten by somebody like Cedrek Fields
