I thought that rope skipping is enough to get the stamina needed to go 4-5 rounds but when I started doing roadwork I realize that there is nothing better for conditioning and stamina than running. The difference was enormous and I actually started to like roadwork. I just take my Ipod and go to the park. When it was snowing so bad here in chicago and you could not see any living person in park I was running. I don't gas out anymore during training which makes me more productive and more focused. Roadwork#1

treadmill and bike machine should be last resorts. roadwork and jump rope are best, roadwork being a little better for overall conditiong, but jump rope still being invaluable. other than those two, sparring and all the other boxing work should be enough.

    rowing.....

I usually do 15 minutes rowing, starting slow and ending at high level of strokes per minute...rowing will increase endurance , work your arms, legs and shoulders ..but also will save your knees from the pounding of the tread mill

I do the traditional rope jumping and roadwork and iv just started hillsprints . Roadwork i think cant be substituted for anything else same with skipping, theres a reason nearly all boxers do these two things among many other exercise.

burpees usually get your heart going pretty good too, or burnouts on a heavy bag.
