what are some methods you use to condition your shins for a fight other then doing pad work and kicking a heavy bag. A guy at work was telling me he kicks truck tyres to condition his shins. What other methods get good results..

Firmly run a wooden rolling pin up and down your legs at home.

That and continuous thumping with a lightly padded baton tend to be the most common methods.

Have you ever tried the rice in a sock method?

That is quite common in Laos and Thailand i believe :happy

I used to roll rolling pins and glass bottles up and down my shins when I first started Thai boxing because it seemed pretty hardcore but it's really better just to kick the **** out of the pads and the heavy bag and do it all the time. If you go overboard on the bottles and pins you're liable to get shin splints and that's nasty.

This. Kick the heavy bag and the pads. No need for anything else really, it's overkill.

Negative, I've had loads of school work and when I haven't been in the books I've been in the woods stalking deer.

Would you advocate use of a rolling pin or any of these other methods on a jaw MM?

Truck tyres are for ****ing soft cocks. I kick truck axles bro.

Anyways, Metal Mandible is right :barf ... you should be getting all the shin conditioning you need through pads and bag work.

Just kick a good heavy bag 3-400 times a day and your shins will strengthen up fine. no need for anything else.
