IBO - I BOX in OZ= Regional title except when its thrown into the deal when fighting for a recognised top four title , kind of like the way that dog was thrown into the deal by the gippo's in the movie Snatch . Contendo you make some excellent points and it's hysterical to see someone else cope a bit of grief for not worshipping at the Darchinyan alter , IMO Darchinyan is on the slide and by all reports this fight indicates if he fought Donaire again the result would be the same .

Ash the real champion is the man who Unifies all four major titles ala Darchinyan , Calzaghe , Haye , etc these blokes deserve the title of Champion boxer not some crud who just stumbled upon the WTF title mate , Unification has to be every fighters goal , winning a top four ABC trinket indicates world class level but these other WBF and IBO belt titles are not even considered Commonwealth standard in most instances by the majority of boxing fans worldwide .

A lot less often than they should Ash because of all these governing bodies wanting to dip their beaks in the trough mate ,maybe it's just the younger generation that see these blokes as "Champions" as they were brought up on a staple diet of ABC champs, Ash when i was a kid mate it was one world one champ and everyone knew just who exactly the man was in their respective divisions. Ps did you see Joe Bugner on the telly back last year saying he retired as the Heavyweight champion of the World ? now don't get me wrong i loved Joe when i was a kid but him saying that just made me lol .

On the broken hand, do you think it was for real or just a bit of hype?

I couldn't imagine him passing the medical with a broken hand

I think Vic clearly loses a lot of his punching power when he fights at bantamweight.

I wish he would revert back to the style of fighting he used against Mijares. That was beautiful. Of late he's been going back to his old habbits of just bullying. :S

Firstly, congrats to Vic. You have to give credit where it's due. Regardless of the type of belt, he did win the fight, but I got the feeling it was all about being able to say he was a multi world champ. Where I'd be concerned if i were Vic's camp is in the fact that he fought a bloke, who, while tough as nails, was only ever going to win via a lucky punch and he couldn't put him away (this from a bloke renowned for his KOs). The thing I really find difficult to like in Vic is his perceived arrogance. I thought the broken hand thing was way over the top and have my doubts -as if you'd risk fighting and your reputation with a broken hand!! Also, I am sure it was taken out of context, but the line "I'd beat him with my little finger" or words to that effect, were classless and belittling to the opponent. My concern for Vic is that whilst he's proven himself to be a quality boxer, his ego may potentially get him into an awkward spot. He could so easily be a people's champion with a bit more decorum.
