I went to the fights last night and was lucky enough to witness one of boxing's good guys win the Qld Super Middleweight title, Will "Hardcore" Hadlow won an entertaining bout by a convincing tko in round 5. This was his 7th attempt to win the belt and you could tell from the get go that last night was his turn, you couldnt of beaten him with a baseball bat.

As he said in an his speech last night, he did most of his learning in the ring in actual fights, it has been great to watch his progress over the years and to see him acheive state title honours.

In the days of padded records it's admirable to see that fight anyone, anytime, anywhere attitude, he has ducked no one and always gives a good account of himself and always proves to be a competitive and worthy opponent.

Good on ya HARDCORE, bring on Tongia, cant wait for that one.:thumbsup

without fighters like this the industry, in a country that is slowing turning it's back on boxing, will die out all together. Well done.

Good point toppity, my mrs had the audacity to ask whilst watching the fox card last night why dont some of these guys with losing records just give it up.

I had to explain to her how the sport needs these guys, after all someone has to lose and if these guys are doing what they love and making a living then why not.

Boxing keeps alot of guys out of trouble and gives them discipline in their lives so who are we to say they shouldnt do it just because they dont always win.

On topic good to see Hadlow win the state title. :good

There's some higher profile guys, one in particular that springs to mind, that could take a leaf out of Hadlow's book as far as having a red hot go at the best opposition he can get matched up against.
