Benn just isn' very good. People tipping him for world titles are either the matchroom sheep brigade who get told how to think or Nigel Benn fanboys.

The lad is area to domestic at peak

He will get battered if he ever decides to moves up in his calibre of opponent s. Better to keep him within domestic level, where he can still pretend that he is heir to his father.

    A nothing fighter.

    57-54 how!?

    10-7 opponent CLEAR
    10-9 opponent CLEAR
10-9 opponent or 10-10 -no case can be made for Conor winning R3
    9-10 Connor
    8-10 Conor CLEAR
8-10 -no case can be made for 7-10 Connor because it wasn't one-way traffic at all

So how do you come up with 54-57 Connor??

    10-7
    10-9
    9-10
    9-10
    8-10
    8-10

That's totally unreasonable and still 54-56.. where's the other point coming from?

Inquest needs to be made into referee's scoring, urgently. Unless he scored R1 10-8 instead of 10-7, forgetting that he declared TWO knockdowns??

I haven't seen it yet but I see lots of peeps on twitter saying he lost too? Does the other guy have a case for a win here?

He went life and death with a journeyman on a burns undercard and he almost lost and since that fight all his fought is part time fighters that can't punch or have no chin and this guy was nothing more then a tough club fighter that could take a punch and he almost knocked Benn out who more then likely had a full camp and he only got back into the fight because his opponent started to gas because everyone knows matchroom opponents never get any real notice if this guy had a full camp he would have ended benn

Soon as his opponent started moving about and threw a few shots I thought this guys live one.

It was a great fight to watch and that makes me happy

Judges scoring and names etc couldn't care less was enjoyable equally matched fight and that's the pinnacle of boxing for me. How often do u see it?

Just got in from work and watched the fight on YouTube.

A few things...Sky have no shame in their blatant bias of Matchroom fighters. That was a legitimate knockdown in the first round. I am staggered that they were disputing it...he copped a shot and went down. That’s a knockdown!!!

The scoring was also shameful. That was a draw. As mentioned by @Bulldog24 the scoring makes no sense.

Finally, the fight was hugely entertaining but lacking in actual boxing skills. The standard was similar to 4am outside Geno’s kebab house in St.Helens. Conor Benn is incredibly naive with a huge ego. He hasn’t learned nothing from his first 10 fights. He fought the same way tonight that he did on his debut. What a regression in his performance. He gets kudos from Sky but for what, going life and death with a journeyman? I’m actually irritated that they force this lad down our throats just cos of his surname.

Watson was top 3-4 in WBC/WBA/IBF and had been since he knocked out Don Lee, after the Benn fight he was WBA mandatory to McCallum's title. Benn/Watson was a 12-round title fight. Wow. Haha!
