Tough one, he’ll struggle to go back to 147 imo but that’s where his team will want him to be because there’s a chance he can do something there given the weaker opposition 154 is probably more comfortable and realistic but they won’t want him anywhere near most of those guys!
Talent wise he will always be that fighter that was dropped and beaten by a French pastry chef and part time boxer in Cedric Peynaud. He does not have a single win to suggest he is anywhere close to world class. 147 is better than 154, because at 154 he has zero chance of finding a weak champion and then some easy defences. At least at 147 he has a chance, fully egged on, to win a strap and defend it.
I don’t think Benn is very good, he’s pretty competent and does some good things but I’ll never get the image of that French journeyman battering him out of my mind, and he’s not really done much since that. The Eubank win was an empty one, Eubank has probably spent his career conning the public too, his best win is what? Then to get him in the ring in that condition, doesn’t impress me. 147 is a weak division however, Benn vs any of the champions could be good watches.
