lol. I think they must have already got to him.

I really shouldn't joke about stuff like that. It's hardly a laughing matter for people who have to live under those type of conditions. I hope he didn't take offence. I just like to joke around.

It is perfectly possible that what your friend says is true.

But then, that begs the question "If one enjoyed so much success as an amateur boxer, why would you decide to become an mma fighter?"

Im not a McGregor hater, far from it!! Considering that my Grandparents were Irish and taking my username into account, it is safe to assume that I would love to see CMac become a world champion mma fighter. And you are bang on. He has done fantastically well to gatecrash the UFC and get people talking about him. And he is a talent, no-one can deny that.

With regards him boxing professionally, from what I have seen so far, he would not be at domestic champion level (especially when one considers that he would be fighting at welterweight).

 It's a bit late for sympathy Serge mate, the poor guy is probably wearing a blinfold and on his way to Qincheng.

Seriously, i'm sure he is fine and knows we're just two ****holes that like a joke, and as such mean absolutely no offence.

And yes, it is indeed an absolute disgrace that good peopke have to live under such censorship.

He only won a novice Irish title I think which is for boxers who have had under 15 fights, he didnt do much tbh, hes boxing is very good he has a great straight left and right cross, serious power and a good chin, he trains in Steve Collins brother gym for boxing and Collins even said he would be world champ if he went pro.

Conor is 26-27 now..if he gave up mma today and dedicated himself to boxing, it is still incredibly unlikely that he would become a genuine welterweight world champion boxer.

Truth be told, he would struggle mightily (and probably get embarrassed) by Frankie Gavin. Never mind genuine world class boxers.

That's not to say that CMac is not a talented boxer, he quite clearly is. But the difference between an mma fighters' boxing and professional boxing (even at domestic champion level) is enormous... And perhaps Conor being a talented boxer who fights mma (against opponents who's boxing skills are often rudimentary at best) does perhaps make him look a better boxer than he actually is?

And whilst I greatly respect Collins and his opinion, I wouldn't take it as gospel.

I remember Freddie Roach talking up Andre Arlovski's boxing skills.. and I don't think "The Pitbull" ever had a pro boxing fight!! Of course, Arlovski does not possess the toughest of beards, but the fact is that a H. O. F trainer like Roach got it spectacularly wrong.
